The claims process

Whether someone has been the victim of something someone else has either done or not done when they have an obligation in law, they are entitled to compensation. Many people are put off from making a compensation claim, worried that there is too much paperwork, or that it is complicated or even that they may have to go to court.

However, Trafford Law is a small niche firm which as your representative through this process will always champion your rights to ensure that:

  • We fully explain the process at the outset and at the relevant stages.
  • We complete the majority of the paperwork for you; any paperwork you need to complete will be fully explained to you.
  • We will make every attempt to settle your case without going to court.
  • When Court can’t be avoided and you need to attend to get the compensation you deserve, we ensure that a specially trained Solicitor Advocate or Barrister represents you at the hearing and we explain the whole court process to you – it’s not as scary as you might think!

The Next Step

It couldn’t be easier – you can either tell us about your injustice by completing our online form, emailing us at hello@traffordlaw.co.uk or telephoning us on 01213 696969 and one of our specialists will discuss your claim with you. This initial chat is free of charge and free of obligation, but it will give you the chance to find out:

  • Whether you have a claim
  • How we can help you
  • What steps will be involved

What happens if I make a claim?

Once you have spoken to our specialists and they have confirmed that you have a claim, we will run through the claims process with you and talk to you about the specifics of your particular claim. We will take you through each stage step by step and will keep you advised at each stage.

How long does my claim take?

As every claim is different, the length of time it takes will depend upon the injury you have suffered or the other losses you have. However, once your specialist has discussed the details of your claim with you, they will be able to give you an idea of how long it will take to settle your claim.

How much compensation will I receive?

Again, as each claim is different, this is hard to say without knowing more details of your claim. This is something your claims specialist will advise you about.
